Who is the hottest DJ in the streets of Atlanta right now? That’s what the people of Atlanta want to know. Partying in Atlanta has soared to an all time high and some of the hottest DJs that are known to get people off their feet are dominating the scene. One DJ that may instantly come across your mind is DJ Jay T, but you may also know him as James Taylor.
DJ Jay T can be found every weekend on the After Party Mix on Hot 107.9 alongside the side with radio personality Stu. He has known music since he was a kid so it is no coincidence that he found himself surrounded with music as an adult. His passion for music started at an early age in the second grade playing instruments such as the Cello and moved on to the percussion in high school, but it was his brother that introduced him to the nightlife as a DJ.
James’s ability to interact with people and his passion for music are the driving forces towards why he decided to pursue his DJ career. No matter where DJ Jay T, he is going to make the party live the whole night. When asked what were some of his favorite DJ events he said aside from the radio gigs such as Birthday Bash and the block parties, his favorite place to DJ at is high school pep rallies. He continued by explaining “that kids will give you their honest opinion no matter what”. James loves nothing more than honest and genuine energy from the crowd and that is what he strives for every time he is at an event.
DJ Jay T gave his insight on some of the hottest songs on the radio and stated how he believed that some of the hottest rappers are from the inner city. Therefore, he only gave his opinion on how is the hottest in the streets and not necessarily the club. Some of the artists that he mentioned were Pooh Shietsy, Deuce Duke, and SlimeLife Shawty.
When he is not being a DJ, he is the founder of B.A.M. (Building Adolescent Minds) which focuses on creating real life solutions to help the youth with self esteem modules and prepare them with the proper tools for their potential careers. He also has a mobile app through his nonprofit Maximum Xposure, which gives students access to tutors. He is also working on a podcast that is still in the works.
