Where To Get Your Grub On: Top 3 Taco Hotspots New York City

Not sure about you, but there’s never really a bad night for tacos. Or chicken wings, for that matter. With a city as bustling as NYC, and with more than 45,000 places to eat, it’s a little difficult to find that ‘one’ taco place that fills your belly and at a reasonable price.  So how does one (either local or visiting) sift through the taco stands here to find the best taco hotspot in New York City?

While it was a tough job, we knew somebody had to do it, so we’ve scoured the city and found what we consider the best New York City tacos. We’re talking good AF if you know what we mean. Check out the list below and if you’ve got better suggestions, we’d love to hear your argument in the comment section. The countdown begins with…

Habana Outpost

757 Fulton St. Brooklyn, NY
This eatery in Brooklyn is a great way to pregame before the club with frozen margaritas, some bomb shrimp, and beer battered fish tacos as well as their specialty Grilled Corn Mexican Style, complete with a stick and all. While they only offer Sol beer, the Sangria Tinta is just as good or you can save getting your drink on until the club later. If spice is your thing, then go for the Sloppy Jose BBQ Pork topped with jalapenos, chipotle mayo, onion and black beans. One of the great things about Habana Outpost is it’s all about community. From movie nights to baby play dates over breakfast, you can bring the entire family for dinner and then go get your club on later. Plus, the owner is all about the environment, so by eating there, you are doing your part to support a solar-powered, eco eatery. Hours: Mon-Wed 1 to 9 p.m., Thurs-Sat 11 am to 12 am, Sun 11 am to 11 p.m.

Los Mariscos (Los Taos)

409 W 15th St., New York, NY (Meatpacking District)
This is where you’ll find the best fish tacos in all of NYC. It’s a hole-in-the-wall establishment that you could really just walk right by, but then you’d be missing out big time on these delectable eats. If you want anything besides shrimp or fish tacos, just keep walking on. You can grab some guacamole and chips as well as a small, but stiff, margarita, but again, you’d be missing out. Basically, you can order shrimp tacos, fish tacos or spicy shrimp tacos of different varieties. Go for the Enchilada Taco with Spicy Shrimp and you won’t be disappointed. Also, it’s not one of those places that cover up the fish by deep frying it until all you taste is batter. If that’s your jam, walk on friend this ain’t your place.

127 Ludlow St., NY, NY
I don’t even know where to start with the crazy taco creations concocted here. We’re talking Shrimp Popcorn Tacos, Tempura Fish Tacos, Bulgogi Cheesesteak Taco (with sliced ribeye), and Banh Mi Chicken Tacos, to name a few. Not only that, but they also have Charbroiled Oysters, Tangy Garlic Wings, Jalapeno Calamari and Buttered Cube Steak Skewers on the menu. If your mouth isn’t watering yet then you’ve got bigger problems. Add in some Waffle Fries to share among the table and a Cheeky Tiki cocktail or cold beer — you’re good to go. Hours: Mon-Tue 5 pm to 12 am, Wed-Thur 5 pm to 1 am, Fri-Sat 12 pm to 2 am, Sun 12 pm to 11 pm.
